JOSEPH MAWLE (Papa B) began his acting career when he won a scholarship to The Bristol Old Vic. He graduated in 2002 and has gone on to star in a variety of challenging roles both on screen and in the theatre. Joseph starred in Alex Holmes's three part mini-series "Dunkirk" for BBC2 which won a BAFTA in 2005. In 2007 Joseph was nominated for the Royal Television ‘Breakthrough on Screen Award' for the award winning drama "Soundproof". Also that year Joseph gave another eye-catching performance in "Clapham Junction" for Channel 4. Joseph recently took on the demanding role of Jesus in the BBC/HBO drama, ‘The Passion', coincidentally following this by playing Judas in "The Last days of Judas Iscariot" (2008) at the Almeida, which prompted Nicholas De Jongh to write "I cannot recall a young actor whipping up such an intensely emotional storm". Since finishing "Heartless" Joseph has completed production as the lead in the BBC's acclaimed series "The Street" and will also be seen starring in Dominic Savage's "Freefall" and the upcoming "Dive".
