Eddie Marsan

Eddie Marsan (Weapons Man) was born in Bethnal Green (living just one street away from Philip Ridley) and served an apprenticeship as a printer before becoming an actor. He is fast becoming one of our most in-demand actors. In 2008 he won his second British Independent Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in Mike Leigh’s Happy Go Lucky as well as the Best Supporting Actor Award at The US National Film Critics Awards. He has recently completed filming “The Disappearance of Alice Creed” and Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes” with Robert Downey Jnr and Jude Law. It was Eddie's moving performance as the immensely likable Reg in Mike Leigh's critically acclaimed drama “Vera Drake” which got him noticed, winning him his first Best Supporting Actor Award at the British Independent Film Awards 2004. He is currently shooting the second series of the acclaimed BBC1 series Criminal Justice with Sophie Okonedo and Matthew Mcfadyen and the feature film “London Boulevard” with Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley.
